SPECIALIST: SPECIAL CHAIN MANAGEMENT

The Organisation requires the services of a Specialist: Supply Chain Management in the Supply Chain Management department. A fixed term contract of 12 months.

Requirements

  • Be in possession of a Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public
  • Administration, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Should have a minimum of 4 – 6 years of experience in supply chain or procurement,
  • preferably within a regulated environment.
  • Should have knowledge of SA Supply Chain laws.
  • Should have an in-depth knowledge of SCM frameworks in South Africa (PFMA, Treasury
  • Regulations, PPPFA, BBBEE Acts).
  • Relevant/applicable legislation
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of Bid committee processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of finance management.
  • Ability to create a report on expenditure and process invoices.
  • Manual and electronic filing systems.
  • Ability to manage information and a filing system.
  • Relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and managing demand planning and acquisition processes to ensure timely and
  • compliant procurement of goods and services.
  • Coordination and preparation of the procurement plans aligned with strategic and
  • operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain plans aligned with the budget.
  • Support the Bid Committees and ensure compliance with internal and external audit
  • Assists in supplier development initiatives in line with SANParks’ transformation objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate SCM risks and propose improvements to processes and systems.
  • Facilitate the timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Implement inventory control strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  • Ensure proper inventory and asset management practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts and procurement transactions.
  • Ensure all SCM activities align with relevant legislation (e.g., PFMA National Treasury
  • Frameworks, BBBEE).
  • Maintain audit–ready procurement records and participate in internal /external audits.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual SCM reports.
  • Analyse procurement data, identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Identify and report on irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure.
  • Implement improvements in SCM processes and systems.
  • Stay up to date with changes in SCM-related laws and best practices.
